Gregg Satterlee Tops Vince Gaston Memorial at Thunder Mountain

Evaluating Upcoming Plans for This Weekend

INDIANA, Pa. (06/18/24) – Gregg Satterlee soared to a thrilling $8,000 victory in the inaugural Vince Gaston Memorial at Thunder Mountain Speedway on Friday night with his Satterlee Motorsports No. 22 Keyser Manufacturing / Classic Ink / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Despite starting the feature in sixth, Satterlee took command of the lead on lap 14 and turned back a furious challenge from Drake Troutman to secure his fifth win of the 2024 season.

“After that last caution came out I got a little nervous since I never was able to really get away from Drake, but it all worked out.” Satterlee said. “The car was really awesome tonight and we made gains on it all night long, we were really good in that feature. Thanks to my crew, my family and the Gaston family for putting this whole deal on, I know Vince liked coming here to race.”

Gregg Satterlee entered a single event over the weekend with Friday night’s inaugural Vince Gaston Memorial at Thunder Mountain Speedway (Brookville, Pa.) aboard his No. 22 Rocket Chassis Late Model.

With preliminary results placing him on the third row for the main event, Gregg tracked down fast qualifier and early pacesetter Mason Zeigler on lap 14 and led the remainder of the 47-lap affair to capture his fifth win of the season and $8,000 top prize. He turned back a late challenge from runner-up Drake Troutman with Zeigler, Andrew Yoder, and Max Blair rounding out the Top-5.

Satterlee is unsure about his plans for this upcoming weekend but has added a trio of World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series events to the docket for next week.

The rescheduled Billy Winn Classic at Bedford (Pa.) Speedway on Thursday, July 11th, kicks off the three-day event before heading to Hartford, Ohio’s Sharon Speedway. Friday’s preliminary feature offering a $10,000 payday sets the stage for Saturday night’s $20,000-to-win Late Model Showdown finale.
