18th-place finish in Topless 100; Prepping for Lucas Oil eastern swing
DutchStar Motorsports and Ross Robinson were one of 64 teams entered at Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) on Friday afternoon for the event co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS).
With a prelim on Friday kicking off the 41st running of the Comp Cams Topless 100 weekend, Robinson fell short of a transfer spot in his heat race and B-Main, ending his night early.
Relegated into a consolation race on Saturday, Ross moved forward five positions to finish eighth, forcing him to use a provisional into the $50,000-to-win Comp Cams Topless 100. Rolling off 23rd, Robinson improved five spots in the 100-lap affair to place 18th.
Ross climbed to 13th in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
Robinson now turns his attention to his home track, Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Del.), as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series invade next Thursday, August 24th, for the rescheduled Melvin L. Joseph Memorial.
