Failed oil line disrupts Chris Ferguson's run at Volunteer Speedway

Hoping to turn his luck around this weekend, Chris Ferguson made the trip Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon for the first night of the unsanctioned-Volunteer 50 weekend.

Starting 13th in his $5,050-to-win preliminary feature, Ferguson made up four positions to finish ninth, one spot short of automatically transferring to Saturday's main event.

While running his B-Main on Saturday, Ferguson suffered a mechanical failure that ended his night early.
