World Finals brings Ross Bailes to The Dirt Track at Charlotte
Ross Bailes began a busy weekend of racing at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Halloween evening for the $7,500-to-win Prelude to the Finals.
Following a fifth-place finish in his heat, Ross drove to an eighth-place finish in the 40-lap main event.
Joining the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) for their final weekend, Bailes piloted the Norm Nichols-owned No. 5 at the World Finals.
Following a disappointing qualifying night on Wednesday, Bailes gained three positions in his Thursday heat race and finished just a few spots out of an A-Main transfer in his Last Chance Showdown.
For another $15,000-to-win show on Friday, Bailes was once again unable to crack the A-Main grid after a 14th-place finish in his B-Main.
With Saturday's $25,000-to-win finale on tap, Ross was buried in a B-Main and decided to call it a night early.
