Terry Poore notches podium finish at Crossville Speedway
Lifting the lid on an action-packed Labor Day weekend, Terry Poore visited Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon to pilot his Jay Clark Racing No. 2 Late Model for the track’s Fan Appreciation Night. After clocking in sixth fastest in time trials, Poore gained three spots in the 20-lap feature to register a third-place finish. He followed Floyd Turner and Deke Waters across the line with Michael Smith and William Blankenship rounding out the Top-5.
The following night at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) for the Crate Late Model portion of the Scorcher 100, Terry scored a sixth-place finish in the 25-lap A-Main.
For the American All-Star Series-sanctioned Pro Late Model Nationals on Sunday at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.), Poore’s fourth-place finish in his heat race positioned him 14th on the starting grid for the $2,500-to-win A-Main. Breaking into the Top-10, Terry passed four cars to place 10th.
To close out the Labor Day weekend on Monday, Poore stopped at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) but was an early retiree on the third lap of the feature.
