Chick Adds New Partner as Season Opener is Sunday at Salem Speedway
Inside Line Promotions – DE SOTO, Kan. (April 20, 2021) – The 2021 campaign gets underway this weekend for Mandy Chick, who will tackle a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance event hosted by Salem Speedway.
The asphalt oval in Salem, Ind., showcases the Midwest 250 presented by Scott County Tourism & Lucas Oil on Sunday.
“We’re going to start out with a couple of JEGS/CRA races and see where it goes,” Chick said. “We’re trying to juggle school, too.”
Chick is a Freshman at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind., where she is studying Mechanical Engineering. Chick is also participating in a program to earn her Master’s Degree in Engineering Management and a minor in Entrepreneurial Studies.
On the racing side her Asphalt Pro Late Model team received two new cars from VanDoorn Racing Development in the offseason and recently did some testing at Salem Speedway in preparation for the upcoming event.
“We tested last weekend,” she said. “We got about four or five hours of testing time. We have some great guys at VanDoorn Racing Development who have helped us a lot. The new cars are fast, sporty and I love the way they drive. I’m really excited going into this weekend.
“The last time and only time I was there was in 2018. Due to an early race incident and burning out the clutch we weren’t able to finish and only got seven laps in. The track is like Winchester Speedway and I seem to do pretty well there. Our recent testing went well, too, so I’m really looking forward to this weekend.”
Chick is also pleased to announce that her team has added Rivers Edge Scrap Management as a partner beginning this weekend.
