Mark Whitener enjoys two-win weekend in Pennsylvania

OCALA, Fla. (06/20/22) – Mark Whitener and Big Frog Motorsports finally shook the monkey off their back and pocketed a pair of Pennsylvania weekend wins with their Big Frog Motorsports / M&W Transport No. 58 Dave’s Towing / Schaeffer’s Oil / XR1 Rocket Chassis Super Late Model.

The team’s first trips of 2022 to Victory Lane came on Friday night at Lernerville Speedway and then on Saturday night at Marion Center Speedway.

“We’ve been a little off the past month or so and some great folks including Michael Norris and Brian Daughtery helped get us lined out, and the changes showed with our weekend performances,” said team owner, Augie Burttram. “Mark (Whitener) did a great job, and we feel good about where we are at with the car now. Hopefully, our team can continue the momentum this weekend at Lernerville (Speedway) for the big show.”

Mark Whitener returned to the driver’s seat of the Big Frog Motorsports No. 58 Super Late Model on Friday afternoon at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) to get a test session in for the upcoming Firecracker 100 weekend.

In a field of 18 cars, Whitener secured his spot into the A-Main with a ninth-to-third run in his heat race. Starting the feature in eighth, Mark outran Michael Norris in the 20-lapper to record his first win of the season in the No. 58.

On Saturday afternoon at Marion Center Raceway (Marion Center, Pa.), Mark raced from the sixth-starting position in the feature to claim his second win of the weekend. He took the checkers ahead of Matt Lux, Jon Lee, Levi Yetter, and Tommy Schienhafer Jr.
