Podium finish in USMTS debut at I-70 Speedway

Starting the feature in 10th via a third-place performance in his heat race, Ramirez clawed forward one spot in the 42-lap affair to finish ninth.
For the Grant Junghans Memorial on Friday at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kan.), Dereck’s third-place finish in his heat race pinned him on the sixth row for the $20,002-to-win main event. Losing two spots in the 42-lapper, Ramirez logged a 14th-place outing.
On Saturday night at I-70 Speedway (Odessa, Mo.), Ramirez stopped the clocked second-fastest in his group before placing third in his heat. Wheeling his way into the Top-5 in the feature, Dereck passed seven cars to register a third-place finish. He trailed Rodney Sanders and Lucas Schott across the line with Jason Hughes and Tanner Mullens rounding out the Top-5.
Dereck is currently third in the latest USMTS point standings.
