Season Showdown: Can-Am Speedway’s Golden Jubilee Finale Set to Crown Champions

The Golden Jubilee Season is drawing to a close and this coming Friday night the regular season finale is set to take place with many divisions that still have track titles hanging in the balance.

Tim Fuller has nothing to worry about in the Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTCar 358 Modifieds. After a third place run to Scott Webb and Lance Willix on August 16th, Fuller locked up his 4th straight title with one race remaining and comes into this week, 84 points ahead of Billy Dunn. Willix is just two points behind Dunn in the fight for second while Shaun Shaw and Ryan Bartlett have a close battle for fourth and fifth respectively.

Mike Fowler has a comfortable lead in the Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman division heading into championship night, but it is far from over with. Eric Nier has not won a race yet but has been consistent all year and that effort has put him just 26 points behind the Fulton New York driver heading into the final points night. Both are seeking their first ever track championship. Gavin Eisele sits just 28 points back with Brennan Moore 30 points behind in 4th. Jessica Power completes the top 5, 56 points behind the leader.

Josh Verne Jr. is eyeing a third straight Panther Frameworx Crate Sprint Car title, but Picton Ontario’s Andrew Hennessy is not going away, as he trails the two-time champion by just 16 points. Hennessy has four wins this year compared to Verne’s three wins, but the defending champion has finished no worse than second all season, which has made the difference between the two drivers.

Damien Bechler is looking in good shape to grab the Sundance Leisure Thundercar title but it is not locked up by any means. Defending champion Francis White is only 2 points behind the Sacket’s Harbor native as he looks to defend the title. Both drivers have been to victory lane twice but Bechler leads the way with 10 top five finishes in 12 starts this season. Tony Frezzo is also in the mix as well, with 1 win, 8 top 5s and 10 top 10 efforts. Frezzo will look for his second title in four seasons.

The Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman is all about wins and no points are on the line. Brady Howard is the driver who has owned victory lane winning the last three in a row. Logan Brown has had a stellar season winning six races along with two over at Brockville, where he has run on a part time basis this year. Camdin Cook has been doing plenty of winning this year, recently collecting his second win of the year at Mohawk last Saturday. “Cam The Man” is still looking to get his first at Can-Am. Genavieve Bartlett has had a solid year as well, claiming her first career win in late June and collecting an impressive 11 top 5's in 12 starts

The top stars of the Can Am Speedway will be ready to go Friday night and we hope you will be there as well. Gates open at 5pm with the first green flying at 7pm, as the Golden Jubilee Season marches on.
