Erick Chesterman - PARK CITY, Kan. (May 21, 2022) It was Kanas Honor Flight night at 81 Speedway for the URSS vs. OCRS “Civil War” special event joined by weekly racing series action for the Alternative Pest Management USRA Modifieds, HeyGlassman.com Stock Cars, and JLR Property Management Rookie Modifieds.

In what has become a common theme during Alternative Pest Management USRA Modified action during the first two months of 2022, Tyler Davis and Tad Davis once again fought each other for the win on Saturday night. In what literally became a head-to-head battle with both drivers drawing front row starting spots, Tyler grabbed the early lead at the drop of the green.

Tad hunted for a way around the No. 65 finally taking over the lead on lap nine. Two laps later Tyler found another lane through the middle of the track to re-take the lead. The No. 65 stretched his advantage to 2.5 seconds before a caution with three to go forced a reset.

On the restart Tad raced to the inside off turn two. Side by side heading back into turn three, Tyler dove hard into the corner to take the lead for good.

Tad settled for second at the line with Brendon Gemmill, Cody Schniepp and Bryce schniepp completing the top five. Kyler Kemp, Tyler, and Tad each grabbed heat race wins.

Not to be outdone, the HeyGlassman.com Stock Cars put on another barn burner of a show. Brandon Conkwright and Kenny Ziegler thrilled the crowd battling door to door for multiple laps, making contact in the process, while racing for the lead.

At the checkers Conkwright got the better of Ziegler while Greg Schell, Chris Holle and Clint Smith completed the top 5. Holle, Ziegler and Scott Lehman each recorded heat race wins.

JLR Property Management Rookie Modified driver Dakota Dale put his bad luck behind him and picked up his first feature win of 2022. Dale led wire to wire, but it wasn’t without challenges late from both Wyatt Gaggero and Frederick Freeman.

At the checkers Freeman had to settle for second, while Chevy Coleman, Wyatt Gaggero, and KC Mullin made up the top five. Gaggero, Coleman, and Dale all claimed heat race wins.

81 Speedway takes the week off on Saturday, May 28th. Racing returns on June 4th with the Titans B-Mod Series headlining the show. Alternative Pest Management USRA Modifieds, AutoTech Service Super Stocks, Primal Jerky Mini Stocks, and Midwest Wrap Co. IMCA Mod Lites join them for weekly racing series action.
