Mike Benedum attends Prairie Dirt Classic at FALS

Making his first ever start at the famed Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.), Mike Benedum trekked to the Illinois oval on Friday for the 31st annual Prairie Dirt Classic weekend. With the 74 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries split into two separate groups for time trials, Benedum’s 19th fastest qualifying effort pinned him 10th on the starting grid for the $3,000-to-win preliminary feature. Locking the Top 4 finishers into Saturday’s main event, Mike recorded a 10th-place finish.

Transferring into the B-Main on Saturday, Mike improved one spot to finish seventh, sending him into the Non-Qualifiers feature. With the race winner given the option to pocket the $2,500 payday or tag the tail of the main event, Benedum posted a 14th-place outing.
