Motor Issues Cuts Benedum's Dirt Million Short at Mansfield

On Friday evening Mike Benedum traveled to Mansfield Motor Speedway (Mansfield, Ohio) for the inaugural Dirt Million. Drawing a stout field of 77 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries for a pair of preliminary features, Mike timed in 22nd fastest in his group earning him the 6th-starting spot for his heat. Needing to place 4th or better to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Benedum suffered motor issues that brought an early end to his weekend. (Zach Yost photo)
