Johnny Scott lands Top 10 finish in NAPA Know How 50 at Tri-City Speedway

Monday night found both Stormy and Johnny Scott in action at 300 Raceway (Farley, Iowa) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned Truck Country 50.

After experiencing ignition issues in hot laps, Stormy scored the Lucas Slick Mist Fast Time Award with the fastest lap overall in a field of 27 cars. Johnny edged his way into the main event with a fifth place finish in his heat while Stormy faded back to a seventh place finish. Streaking to a 12-lap consolation victory, Stormy locked into the 19th-starting position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. With Johnny suffering engine issues on lap 37 after rallying from 13th to sixth, Story withdrew from the 50-lapper a lap earlier on the 36th circuit.

The following night at Plymouth Speedway (Plymouth, Ind.) for the fourth stop of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour, Stormy locked his spot into the $5,000-to-win with a third place finish in his heat while Johnny followed up an eighth place outing with a fourth place finish in his B-Main. Relying on a provisional into the show, Johnny passed 10 cars to register an 11th place outing. Stormy gained one spot in the 40-lap affair to place eighth.

On Thursday evening at Spoon River Speedway (Banner, Ill.), Stormy notched a runner-up finish in his heat behind Kyle Bronson while Johnny fell one spot shy of a transfer position with a fifth place finish. Picking up a 10-lap consolation victory, Johnny earned the 17th-starting position for the show. With $5,000 on the line, Johnny marched through the field nine spots to record an eighth place outing. Stormy ran into mechanical issues on lap 16 that forced him pitside.

Returning with the LOLMDS on Friday, the Scott brothers headed to Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) for the NAPA Know How 50. Stormy grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat while Johnny fell one spot short with a fifth place finish. Storming to 12-lap consolation victory, Johnny earned the 18th-starting position for the $12,000-to-win A-Main. Wheeling his way into the Top-10, Johnny improved 10 spots to place eighth while Stormy pulled off on the ninth lap.

On Saturday afternoon at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the 28th annual Show-Me 100 presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com, Johnny secured his spot into the $20,000-to-win A-Main with the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat while Stormy logged a seventh place outing. Failing to place third or better in his B-Main, Stormy was forced to use a provisional into the show. He was an early exit from the 100-lapper on lap 25 while Johnny dropped three spots to place 16th.

Closing out the action-packed weekend on Sunday with the CMH Diamond Nationals, Stormy took part in his time trial session and heat race but scratched from his B-Main. Johnny scored a third place finish in his heat, which positioned him 10th on the starting grid for the $12,000-to-win finale. Running into trouble near the halfway point, Johnny headed to the infield pit area on the lap-29 intermission for opportunity to swap helmets but never returned to the 3/8-mile oval.
