Fayetteville, NC's Daulton Wilson grabbed the checkers Friday evening at Portsmouth Raceway Park's Annual Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50 presented by Berndt-Murfin Insurance and other area businesses, which paid $7,500 to win.

Wilson qualified second, won his heat, started the feature on the pole, and would lead all 50 laps en route to his first-ever win in The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels.

Garrett Alberson charged from 12th to finish second. Seth Daniels moved up from ninth to take third. Four-time PRP Champion RJ Conley placed fourth. Shane Bailey came from 21st to fifth. Rounding out the top 10 were Audie Swartz, Rod Conley, Rob Anderzack, Russell Throckmorton, and Rusty Schlenk.

While Wilson prevailed in one of the three Late Model Heats, Wheelersburg brothers Rod and RJ Conley were triumphant in the others. Wheelersburg's Justin Cooper was the quick qualifier. In total, 21 Giovanni's Pizza Late Models were in attendance for the event.

In The Gampp's Outdoor Power Equipment Modifieds, Pedro's Brian Skaggs took the win in The Jim McGraw Memorial. Skaggs also set quick time and won his heat. Derek Richmond was the runner-up. Adam Colley moved from 11th to third. Miles Cook II climbed from 13th to fourth. Logan Burke placed fifth, while completing the top 10 were Hunter McCloud, Stevie Thornsberry, Danny Hamilton Jr, Phil Cox, and Brandon Smith.

Aside from Colley advancing eight spots and Cook moving up nine positions, there were several other drivers who charged through the field. McCloud moved up 12 places from 18th to sixth. Thornsberry advanced 10 spots from 17th to seventh. Hamilton climbed 11 positions from 19th to eighth.

While 19-year-old Miles Cook II posted a top 10 finish in the Modifieds, he won the O'Reilly Auto Parts Limited Late Model A-Main presented by WB Metals. It was the second Limited Late Model victory this season for the youngster from Wheelersburg. Rounding out the top 10 were Joe Brewer, Mike Meyers, Dakota Pennington, Evyian Terry, Kent Keyser, Robert Hoffstadt, Mike Steele, Kevin Terry, and PJ Simpson.

Friday's racing at PRP proved to be the season finale, although it wasn't know at the time. Portsmouth Raceway Park was slated to race The River Days Rumble 50 on Saturday, August 31st but due to the threat of rain, the Lucas Oil Series opted to cancel that event. It will not be re-scheduled.
