Best finish of 8th for Oberkramer at MLRA Fall Nationals
Mason Oberkramer journeyed to Wheatland, Missouri’s famed Lucas Oil Speedway over the weekend to participate in the second and third nights of the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) Fall Nationals at the 3/8-mile venue.
On Thursday, Brandon Overton kicked off the three-day event by driving Oberkramer’s Premier Flatwork No. 93 Super Late Model in the 37-car field. He posted a DNF and was scored with a 22nd-place feature finish in the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win opener at the “Diamond of Dirt Tracks.”
He then handed the keys to Oberkramer for the next two nights.
On Friday, Oberkramer was one of 35 MLRA competitors on hand looking for another $5,000 first-place prize. He finished as runner-up in his heat race and started fifth in the 30-lap A-Main. Despite slipping three positions in the feature he still recorded a solid top-10 result in eighth.
The next night, 32 MLRA teams were at the Wheatland track for the Fall Nationals finale. After grabbing the third spot in his heat, Oberkramer started 12th in the 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event. He ran into trouble and was forced to retire early, recording a 22nd-place finish.
With three races remaining in the 2024 MLRA season, Oberkramer sits 13th in the series point standings.
