Donuts-New Winners-LCLDM
*We will start with the World Racing Group ASCS Sooner series sprint cars. With many cars having trouble the night before the 9 car field still put on a show! Double heats with the second one inverted provided lots of winged action. Having local hero and crowd favorite Jeremy Campbell in a heated battle late in the race brought the crowd to their feet. When the double checkers flew it was the 10c victoriously celebrating on the front stretch with a Dozen Donuts to delight the fans!
*The Allied Energy and battery Stock Cars hit the track with 25 cars checked in for weekly action. The always fast point leader Clint Smith from the jump had his hands full battling with other cars, and got a flat tire to show for it and was relegated to just finishing. The top 10 in this class is so good that any one of em could win on any night. Scott Miller proved that he still has it by getting his first victory in 2024 at the speedway, he was closely followed by Joey Richmond, the youngster Justin Franz, 14th starting Aaron Esparza to 4th, and George Ramey 5th. The points have really tightened up and anyone in the top 6 could take the championship home this season. Stay tuned and come watch as this division proves to be one of the toughest in the country right here at 81 Speedway.
*The Kansas Tow Company USRA B modified has a point battle brewing of its own. Seeing Tyler Kidwell expire early opened the door for a 5 car battle for the win. Travis Johnson finally shook the monkey off his back and took home the trophy. Point leader Clint McFadden 2nd, Cory Janasek strong in 3rd, Slade Mohr 4th, and the FHC Josh Lanterman still mustered up a top 5. This class once again will come down to the last race while Clint, Slade, K.C., Josh all have a shot to take the glory.
*The Alternative Pest Management USRA Modifieds started the A feature with “the Jet” T.J. Tolan leading the field to green. The yellow quickly flew when Dan Powers’ point leading # 4 made a hard left to the infield with mechanical failure. This had Paden Phillips poised to pounce on the points lead as he was strong from the start chasing down a visiting Hollywood Tyler Davis racing local this week. For the first 15 circuits Tyler Davis led and Paden was looking to be back on top of the points battle when he pulled off with some mechanical problems. Tanner Black then jumped to the 2nd spot but faded as Tyler was pulling away until a Lap Car looked to get sideways causing the leader to finish him off and getting the field bunched back up with 3 laps to go. The 65 of Hollywood held off Tanner Black blocking his line going onto Oreilly Auto Parts Victory Lane. Gabe Hodges with a great run in 3rd, Brendon Gemmill 4th and Wyatt Gaggero probably ending up with a good points night in 5th. This is going to come down to who wants it more, with just a few races left Will it be the always fast Paden Phillips?? Or will it be the newly formed B.O.M team of Dan Powers??? Or may it go to the youngster Wyatt Gaggero??? Nobody knows but I hope you all come out to the races to watch it play out!!!
