Central Missouri Speedway Hosts Heartland Waste Race Night on Saturday!
(Warrensburg, MO) Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) racing continues Saturday for Heartland Waste Race Night. Heartland Waste, which is located directly across the street from the speedway has been a long-time supporter of the track over the years. According to www.heartlandwaste.com, “We pride ourselves in providing the utmost quality service to our customers. Big enough to serve you, small enough to still care about your most important needs. Heartland Waste is a Locally Owned and Operated Company providing over 30 Years of Service in our coverage area.”
Having a look at the championship standings heading into this weekend, Tim Karrick of Basehor, Kansas, leads the A-Mod contingent in search of his first-ever track championship. Karrick holds a commanding lead over Terry Schultz and Gunner Martin. Multiple-time champion Brett Wood leads Nathan Vaughn in Street Stocks with Jimmy Ngo setting in a distant third. Jacob Ebert carries the B-mod contingent into this weekend’s action with Jake Richards and Kameron Grindstaff trailing. It’s an all Raffurty top three in Mod-Lite action as eight-time feature winner Dillon Raffurty leads Michael and David Raffurty into the weekend events. Logan Headley leads Spencer Reiff and Joey Harper into this weekend’s Pure Stock competition.
The Labor Day weekend special events are just a few weeks away at CMS. The weekend features back-to-back $1,000-to-win nights for B-Mod competitors, $3,000-to-win for A-Mods, and a National points-earning event for ULMA Late Models. In addition to those classes, the weekend also serves as the finale for the Lakeside Speedway and CMS co-sanctioned Top Gun Series featuring A-Mods, B-Mods, Pure Stocks, and E-Mods on Saturday. Additional classes in competition for the Labor Day weekend include Street Stocks on both Saturday and Sunday and Mod-Lites on Saturday.
The final points-earning night for weekly championship racing takes place on August 24th. The Labor Day weekend is a non-track points-earning night in all classes. The night will count towards the Top Gun Series points only. CMS recently announced it has waived the track registration fee for the remainder of the season. For more information, visit www.centralmissourispeedway.net and click on the special event tab titled “Labor Day Weekend at CMS.” CMS and Lakeside Speedway will hos their season-ending championship banquet at the Elk’s Lodge in Blue Springs, Missouri on Saturday, November 9th. Additional ticketing and information will be released in the coming weeks regarding the banquet.
Kid’s Night is just around the corner and Central Missouri Speedway is counting on the generosity of the outstanding drivers and fans to make this a memorable night for the young race fans ages 12 and under! This night is always a fan and kid favorite. This year, Kid’s Night takes place on Saturday, August 3rd. During the intermission break, we will have foot races for age groups in both girls’ and boys’ divisions and the winners will receive a backpack filled with school supplies and much more. In addition, all kids 12 and under receive a bag full of school supplies and various donated items. We also have drawings to giveaway bicycles. This night is all about the kids and everyone at the track loves seeing the looks of joy on all the kids having a great time!
We are looking for donations to help make this night be a memorable one for all kids in attendance! Needed items include bikes, backpacks, race-related trinkets such as hero cards and photos, crayons, pens, pencils, scissors, rulers, glue, glue sticks, dry erase markers, colored markers, colored pencils, spiral notebook paper, and loose-leaf paper. For our business donators, we look forward to discount coupons and special offers to include in the goody bags for the kids. Donations may be dropped off at the pit entrance this Saturday at the track or, if you are a business donator, please call 816.229.1338 for pickup arrangements.

US Hwy 13 north of Warrensburg is under construction. According to the Johnson County EDC,” The City of Warrensburg is beginning construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Business Route MO-13 and Hawthorne Blvd. This is just north of Walmart, Applebee’s and Aldi's. There will be some temporary detours from time to time.” CMS suggests using the Hwy 13 north bypass east of Warrensburg from US Hwy 50 as an alternate route if coming to CMS from the south.
