David Slack discusses the upcoming race season

After a 3 year hiatus from racing, Slack is feeling optimistic about the 2018 race season. "Simply, we just had too much stuff going on, and we needed to step back and reorganize."

Reorganize they did, including the newly formed 906 Performance banner, and a new addition to the stable. "We have always talked about getting back into modified racing, so we picked up a modified chassis and we have been steadily preparing it for battle."

Slack hinted at plans for the summer, which includes several tracks in the Midwest. "We love racing in Wisconsin, that's for sure. The competition is arguably the fiercest in the country. Several tracks in the region are trying to grow asphalt modified racing, and we want to be part of it." Both Dells Raceway Park, and Marshfield Motor Speedway have taken the reigns and have included modifieds in their regular shows. "We plan to run both, on a part-time basis, and any special events at other tracks in the area." He also doesn't want to leave out his home state of Michigan. "Berlin Raceway is on our radar. We've always wanted to run there, and we might get that opportunity this year."

When asked about a championship contention, Slack shrugged his shoulders. "As of right now, no. But if the car is running strong and opportunity knocks, I could see our attitude towards a championship change real quick. No amounts of Raid can keep the racing bug away once it bites."
