WARTHAN WINS A THRILLER IN 602 OUTLAW LATE MODELS AT DRP

Wisconsin Dells WI-Brad Warthan won a Thriller in the Lefthander Performance 602 Outlaw Late Models 35 Lap A-Main event on Slowey Farms Night at the Races by passing leader Pete Moore on the final lap of the event. Brian Johnson Sr and Pete Moore would bring the twenty car field to the green with Johnson grabbing the early lead with Moore stalking him. Moore kept the pressure on and took the lead on lap eight and was in command in the front of the field. Warthan would work forward diligently through the long first green flag run. After a couple quick cautions he would find himself third on the final restart behind Tanner Berge and Pete Moore. For six laps the trio fought for every inch with Warthan landing on the outside of Moore headed into turn three. Warthan drove it in hard and rocketed off of turn four to lead the only lap that matters and collecting the checkers. Moore would finish second followed by Point Leader Dennis Prunty, Tanner Berge and Brian Johnson Sr. The Diamond Racing Wheels Fast Dash was won by Jon Lemke. The heats were won by Evan Leahy and Tom Carlson. Fast time was Tanner Berge with a lap of 14.158. The Lefthander Performance 602 Outlaw Late Models return next Saturday night July 6th as the Tundra Super Late Models invade Dells Raceway Park for the North American Cup 100.
