B.J. Robinson Rallies for CCSDS Arrowhead Glory

Steve Rushin Memorial Up Next on Sept. 20 – 21 at Batesville Motor Speedway

COLCORD, Okla. (09/14/24) – Starting 13th on the feature grid was not too tall of a task for B.J. Robinson to find his way to Victory Lane on Saturday night at Arrowhead Speedway (Colcord, Okla.) with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super.

Robinson inherited the lead when Logan Martin slowed with a flat right-rear tire during a lap 27 caution. The Louisiana racer paced the remainder of the 35-lap affair en route to the $5,000 victory.

“Man, what an awesome place,” Robinson said in Victory Lane after the thrilling feature win. “The last time we came here, they hadn’t had Late Models here a lot and they didn’t do a lot to the track. Hats off to them — they worked their butt off to try and get us a good race A big thumbs up to this DP Motorsports team. We didn’t start the night on the best note, but they gave me a great car for the feature. This is a major shot in the arm to our team as we look ahead to the final few races of the year with the tour.”

Mark Martin Automotive Qualifying saw Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year contender Austin Vincent setting fast time honors for the first time in his career before winning his heat race to earn the NewVisionCustomShirts.com Pole Award for the feature.

While the up-and-coming Missouri racer set on the pole for the feature it was Hall of Famer Billy Moyer who paced the first six laps of the main event from his outside-front-row starting spot.

Logan Martin jumped to the lead on the seventh circuit and looked to be on his way to the win before a flat tire late led to his untimely demise. Thirteenth-starting B.J. Robinson claimed the lead and never looked back on his way to his first series win since May 5, 2023.

He crossed the finish line 3.608 seconds ahead of Jon Kirby with Chris Wilhite Jr., Billy Moyer, and Kyle Beard completing the Top-5 finishers.

Cole Wells received the MD3 Five Star Bodies Hard Charger Award after motoring forward from the 23rd-starting position to a seventh-place finish.

The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Super Late Model sanctioned Steve Rushin Memorial is up next on Sept. 20 – 21 at Mooney Starr’s Batesville Motor Speedway.

The weekend includes a complete $5,000-to-win CCSDS program on Friday, Sept. 20 followed by a complete $5,000-to-win CCSDS program on Saturday, Sept. 21.
