Berry Drives Away to Pick up Second Feature Win at Dacotah Speedway
Crist Pittenger and Travis Tooley started on the front row of the IMCA Modified feature. Tooley grabbed the lead when the green flag waved but had his hands full with a speedy Travis Peery. Peery grabbed the lead on lap four but an early caution reset the field. On the restart, Jason Wolla challenged Peery for the lead. Wolla passed Peery for the lead on lap 13 and as Peery battled Tom Berry Jr for second, Peery over drove his racing machine and spun in front of the field in turn one. On the restart, Berry held strong with Wolla. With only a few laps to go, Wolla’s car was starting to tighten up. Wolla had difficulty driving off the corners which allowed Berry to close in on Wolla for the win. They briefly raced side by side before Berry took the lead with four laps to go. Tom Berry Jr started to pull away and cruised to victory over the defending national champion, Jason Wolla. Points leader Shawn Strand finished while Jeremy Keller made a late race pass over Marcus Tomlinson for fourth.
