Jake Improves 27 Spots in Friday's Feature at Deer Creek; Wins USMTS Rooke of the Year

Jake was back in action with the United States Modified Touring Series this past weekend at the Deer Creek Speedway for the 20th running of the Fall Jamboree. Thursday night's show was rained out, so the action kicked off on Friday when Jake stormed from 8th to win his qualifying heat race before being disqualified at the scale. He then charged from 13th to 3rd in the b-main, securing a transfer spot into $6,000 to win main event. During the feature, Jake rolled off 30th and proved that he had one of the fastest cars on the track as he sliced and diced his way through traffic to come home with a very impressive third place finish when the 40-lapper was completed.

Saturday night, after being officially crowned as the 2018 Grant Junghans Rookie of the Year, Jake won his qualifying heat race from the pole and then rolled off from the 11th starting position during the 5-lap, $11,000 to win weekend finale. Jake worked his way into the top ten early and was battling for 7th mid way through the feature when a car in front of him broke and he had no where to go, ending his night early.
