Regular Season Done
The 2016 Regular racing season has ended for us. Hope to still run some specials and we are for sure going to Vegas for the Duel and YES, we are gonna do the throw back theme wrap contest and no I will not give you any details but let me assure you, It Will Be Cool!! I am nothing but pleased at how my 1st year in the Sport MOd class went, was hoping to get 1 win at least and we definitely surpassed that and each season I hope to have one thing in my season that I feel is a major accomplishment and boy this season I have several but #1 is the Harris Clash win, That win will always be at the top for me and John at Jet Racing as well as my Dad and all my great sponsors. My life has always been racing, this year I knew it had to change and the move to Iowa for Layne was and has been such a positive for me, we are still struggling to get a routine but finally found a house that is just right for us in an area that I really wanted to live in and I truly believe it will all come together. I have also made some really great friends there and they have made this that much easier for me, we used to be racing enemies, just shows what a great sport our racing is and that anything is possible in this great sport. I was going to drive one of Jets cars at September Fest but finally made the decision not to so we can still race the Sport Mod at Vegas, not ready to surrender the license yet. Have gotten to race some really fun Iowa tracks this season and race with some really good racers as well as get to come back and race at home, yes, Beatrice is still home and Beatrice Speedway is still hard not to think of as my home track, I had a blast Friday night at Beatrice, love racing there cause we are all racing our own line, my line took me to the top and yes, (Clint Luellen), almost went into that one spot of no return but luckily it bent some stuff but not enough that I couldnt still wheel my Jet car up to the front. The ending was not cool but I still parked her knowing that I showed Johnny and our Jet racing team that our cars are that good. No details on the ending I have my haters and those that wait for me to mess up and I rarely disappoint but I was there as were others so I do know what I did and what went down and for the record, I was taught to look someone in the eye, I try to listen to my elders. Mark is a good racer and competitor, we are good.
Disappointed that we didnt get a better Super Nationals finish but at the same time super humbled to be able to get qualified in on the 1st night, my 1st attempt in a Sport mod so we are thankful. Missed my set up for the big dance, too much time to think about it, but we finished and ran every lap so mission accomplished.
Really appreciate Shawn Stanton for coming on board to help me out on the car when he can as well as helping me out as a sponsor, hes also hooked me up with some really good people in Iowa as well and Im super happy with my new shock program at CPD Racing Shocks, they have made all the difference in my set up.
Again, thank you everyone who has and does help me, Johnny and the whole Jet team, Ron, my Dad, my Mom and Stepdad, Eric, Craig, Tom, and the list goes on and on, I wouldnt or couldnt do this without any and all of you. This is the 1st year in a while I havent got a track title or a high finish in the National rankings but I still feel this has been a season for the record books for us and I will still be at the National Banquet cause my Dad will be picking up 2 Championship trophys, the old man has still got it!! Super happy he can get those championships for EQ, Scat, Icon, Howards Cams, he is after all the Open Motor King!!
Next weekend I will be moving my stuff finally to Laynes and my new home and we will let you all know if we are gonna race anywhere else but if not, we will see you all in Vegas, book your tickets now, you know it will be worth it, Thanks again everyone, AA
