Berry Jr Takes Durbin Memorial

106 cars packed the pits at Stuart Speedway for the 2nd Annual Jake Durbin Memorial presented by DJ Septic Services, Pitts Lawn Service, Jason Cox Construction, Karl Chevrolet of Stuart, Finishline Body & Paint, Town & Country Insurance, Ag Hub Midwest, APS Advanced Problem Solutions, and Fox Welding.
Outlaw Mini Mods were the first features on the track and after a shaky start it was Tanner Prehn leading through a lap six yellow. Chase Daniels worked the bottom side of the track but it was not to be as Prehn went on to the win. Daniels went for a spin on the last lap and gave up second to Luke Daniels with Kamdyn Haggard third, Matt Prehn fourth and Bobby Daniels fifth.
Owen Richards and Hunter Patrick brought the IMCA Sport Compacts to green, and it was Richards leading all the way to take the win. Patrick finished second with Tyler Fiebelkorn third, Kolby Sabin fourth and Curtis Miller fifth.
IMCA Northern SportMods were next up with Cam Reimers and Jarrett VanDenberg on the front row. Reimers showed the way early on with Brian Osantowski giving chase. Brayton Carter made it to second on lap six and began to pressure Reimers. Three circuits later Carter took over the lead and looked to take the win but Osantowski got to the high side, cruised past Carter with two laps to go and went on to take the checkered flag. Carter held on for second with Dusty Masolini third, Hunter Longnecker fourth and Reimers fifth.
Next on the track was the IMCA Stock cars with Jeremy Gettler and Chad Legere showing the field to the green flag. Gettler led the first five laps with Buck Schafroth charging by on the top side to take over the point. A caution flag on lap fourteen was the only thing slowing Schafroth down as he would cruise to the win. Dallon Murty finished second with Damon Murty third, Gettler fourth and Shawn Ritter fifth.
Matt Wahl and Riley Songer were up front for the IMCA Hobby Stocks with Songer leading the first two laps. Chuck Madden Jr rocketed by on the high side on lap three and sailed to the feature win. Dylan Nelson finished second with Brandon Cox third, Solomon Bennett fourth and Miciah Hidlebaugh fifth.
IMCA Modifieds were last up with Dylan Thornton and Jordy Nelson on the front row. Nelson led early with Todd Shute waiting in the wings. A lap six caution slowed the field and when flagman Jamie Schirm waved the green it was Tom Berry Jr powering to the lead with Richie Gustin in tow. Berry Jr had some challenges but stayed tough out front as he went on to the win. Gustin finished second with Cayden Carter third, Tim Ward fourth and Shute fifth.
We want to thank all of the drivers, crew and fans for coming out for this great event. Next Thursday is the 21st Annual Ron Little Memorial/Midwest Madness Tour Presented by Ganoe Excavating, Rick's Towing, John's Tree Service, Karl Chevrolet of Stuart, Pole Position, AgHub Midwest, Big Load Trailer Sales, Interstate Power Systems, Ag Hub Midwest, VIP Contractors, see you then!
