Whittall earns best-ever All Star finish in Port Royal’s $60,000-to-win Tuscarora 50
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
VINCENTOWN, N.J. (September 12, 2022) - It was a career weekend for Justin Whittall and JW Motorsports, not only achieving a best-ever finish against the All Star Circuit of Champions, but doing so in Port Royal Speedway’s richest event - the $60,000-to-win Tuscarora 50. The New Jersey-based open wheel team secured their best-ever result by finishing fourth in Saturday’s 50-lapper, climbing four spots in the process while battling with some of the best in the business. Whittall finished second in his heat race to qualify; there were 55 cars entered.
Impressive enough, Whittall, driver of the JG Kronenberger Fine Jewelry, Mid-Atlantic Transport, Pioneer Auto Body, Worldwide Bearings, Enterprise, No. 67 sprint car, kicked-off Tuscarora weekend with a sixth-place performance on Thursday, which at the time was his best-ever All Star outcome. In addition, and perhaps even more impressive, Whittall finished eighth in Friday’s $10,000-to-win Night Before the Tuscarora 50, the product of an overall hard charging performance that ultimately commenced from row four in the B-Main.
“So many people to thank…just an overall incredible weekend for this team,” Whittall explained. “Our August slate wasn’t the best, but to turn things around with a solid Labor Day weekend, then to continue our momentum with an even better weekend during the Tuscarora, says so much about our team’s potential and motivation. I’m hoping to continue this run of success through the end of the season.”
