Podium finish with XR Super Series at Proctor
Mike Marlar opened a three-race swing with the XR Super Series on Monday with the Superior Showcase at Proctor (Minn.) Speedway.
Lined up on the third row for the opener via a runner-up heat showing, Marlar climbed two spots in the 40-lapper to finish third.
After turning in a fourth-place finish in Tuesday’s stop at Gondik Law Speedway (Superior, Wis.), Mike raced into the $50,000-to-win Minnesota Mega on Wednesday at Ogilvie (Minn.) Raceway with a heat race win. Losing two positions in the 50-lap affair, Marlar posted a sixth-place finish.
With Friday’s scheduled event at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) rained out, Marlar’s weekend concluded on Saturday with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned Freedom 60 at Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio). Pinned on the ninth row for the main event via consolation victory, Mike capped off the weekend with a run forward to finish 15th.
Mike remains in fifth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
