Hickman Lands a Pair of Top 5 Finishes
Running in the NASCAR Weekend doubleheader, Riley Hickman headed to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama) on Friday night battling in two separate divisions. Competing in a field of 50 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Crate Late Models, Hickman landed a 5th place finish in the opening night A-Main trailing Cory Hedgecock, Ronnie Johnson, Jason Hiett, and Jake Knowles across the finish line.
In the Super Late Model division for the unsanctioned event, Hickman fell back to a 16th place outing in the A-Main after running into a parts failure.
Returning on Saturday to compete in both his Crate and Super Late Model, Hickman laid down the fastest time in a field of 46 Crate Late Models putting him on the pole for the A-Main. Losing a right-front tire on lap 30, Riley fell back to a 19th place finish in the 50-lapper. In the Super Late Model division, Riley registered the fastest time again in a field of 42 Super Late Models securing his spot into the main event. Battling for a $4,000 payday in the feature, Riley Hickman notched a 3rd place finish behind Derek Ellis and Michael Page with Jonathan Davenport and Todd Morrow rounding out the Top 5.
With his performance over the weekend, Hickman clinched his fourth-straight Southern All Star Series points title.
