Runner-up finish in Lucas Oil stop at Bubba Raceway Park

Best Performance Motorsports pilot Tyler Erb returned with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Fla.) on Monday for the K&N Filters Winternationals. With a third-place finish in his heat race positioning him 17th on the starting grid for the opening night feature, Erb raced forward nine spots in the 40-lapper to finish eighth.

For another $10,000-to-win A-Main on Tuesday, Erb passed three cars in his heat to finish second. Advancing through the field six spots in 40-lap feature, Tyler reeled in a second-place finish, which came behind Devin Moran. Ricky Thornton Jr., Brandon Sheppard, and Shane Clanton completed the Top-5 finishers.

Visiting All-Tech Raceway (Ellisville, Fla.) on Thursday after an off day on Wednesday, Tyler followed up a fifth-place finish in his heat with a consolation victory. Wheeling his way into the Top-10 in the feature, Erb passed 10 cars in the 40-lap affair to place eighth.

After Friday’s program fell to wet weather, Erb outdueled Brandon Sheppard in his heat race on Saturday to pick up the win. Starting the $15,000-to-win finale in second, Tyler paced the field for the first seven circuits but faded back ninth when the checkered flag flew.

Tyler sits in fifth in the lastest LOLMDS point standings.
