Hammer passes nine cars in MARS stop at Fairbury Speedway
Lifting the lid on a Labor Day weekend with the MARS Championship Series, Kyle Hammer entered the Brent McKinnon Racing No. 26H Late Model into battle at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) on Friday evening for the $5,000-to-win opener.
With a fifth-place finish in his heat race positioning him on the seventh row for the feature, Hammer charged forward five spots in the 40-lapper to finish eighth.
Chasing another $5,000 payday in Saturday’s MARS Championship Series event at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.), Kyle followed up a fifth-place finish in his heat with an impressive 14th-to-5th run in the A-Main. He trailed Jason Feger, Frank Heckenast Jr., Ryan Unzicker, and Bob Gardner in the final rundown.
