Spencer Dierks edges Ben Chapman at the checkers at Davenport
A midweek event with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series brought Spencer Diercks to 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa) on Thursday to compete for the $15,555 top prize.
With 30 Super Late Models entered for the 16th annual Slocum 50, Diercks laid down the fourth-fastest lap in his group before placing second in his heat after leading laps 1-5. Rolling off on the fourth row for the main event, Spencer was an early retiree on lap 22.
In the Modified ranks on Friday at Davenport (Iowa) Speedway, Spencer outran a hard-charging Ben Chapman in the 20-lap feature to secure his seventh win of the season. He finished 0.137-seconds ahead of Chapman with Matt Werner joining the podium.
