Bill Balog Wins The Comet Classic
The North Pole Nightmare, Bill Balog, led all 25 laps of The First Annual Comet Classic, claiming the $6000 and Half a pork. Driving the #57 RAB racing, Bill Eckert owned, Howard Law sponsored Midget, Balog held off an early challenge from Josh Most of Red Oak, Iowa. Midway thru the race, Most endured motor problems, delegating second to Chad Boespflug. Bill Balog finished first, followed by Chad Boespflug, and third place finisher Travis Rewerts.
Kelby Watt of Adel Iowa won the Iowa Micro Sprint Car Series 20 lap feature. Watt drove to the early lead with Frank Galusha following in a close second position. On lap twelve, Galusha would take over first place with his Suzuki/Stallard Chassis. While trailing a close second with two laps to go, Kelby Watt drove his #1K Sawyer Chassis, Metric Cycle powered Micro past the #12 Galusha to win by .339 seconds. Skylar Hunter would finish 3rd. Kelby Watt took home $750 and a 1/4 of pork for his Victory.
