Shane Clanton records second-place finish at Sharon
With Friday’s opener falling to Mother Nature, Skyline Motorsports pilot Shane Clanton kicked off his Memorial Day weekend on Saturday afternoon at Sharon Speedway (Hartford, Ohio) for the second round of the doubleheader weekend with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series. After topping the 39-car field in time trials, Shane’s second-place finish in his heat race promoted him into the redraw. Receiving the fifth-starting position for the $20,000-to-win finale, Clanton wrestled away the lead from Max Blair on lap 25 and held the spot until the 49th circuit when Ryan Gustin snuck by. He went onto place second in the 60-lapper behind Gustin, with Josh Richards, Dennis Erb Jr., and Devin Moran completing the Top-5 finishers.
