Lake City, MI (Sunday, July 2, 2023) - Great Lakes Lightning Sprints presented by United Engine and Machine (GLLS) had their second race of the season at Merritt Speedway. The weather was spotty around the area, but we lucked out and had a great night out on the track at Merritt Speedway. We also had a car count of 21 lightning sprint cars. The night was packed with a thrilling event of high speed racing and an amazing turnout in the stands. To start this right, we would like to say thank you to all the drivers, fans, sponsors, and staff members who came out to the race and supported us.

Matt Cogley (Findlay, OH) after drawing 2nd in the pill draw passes by the leader Richard Clay Sr. (Fife Lake, MI) in the first lap and lead the rest of the Feature Race taking home his 1st Feature Race win of the season! Though Brendon Cascadden (Traverse City, MI) was on Cogley's tail, he managed to keep his lead!
