Hughes and Misner Sweep Winter Nationals at Longdale Speedway as 10 Different Drivers Garner Wins During Marquee Event

Inside Line Promotions – LONGDALE, Okla. (Oct. 17, 2016) – Ten different drivers recorded a victory last weekend during the 3rd annual Winter Nationals at Longdale Speedway.
Kip Hughes and Perry Misner led the way with two triumphs apiece as Hughes swept the IMCA sport mods class, including Sunday’s $1,000-to-win A Main, and Misner doubled up on the IMCA stock car division capped by the $800-to-win main event win on Sunday.
Cole Traugett and Hunter McDonald split the IMCA modifieds victories with McDonald taking home the $1,000 top prize on Sunday.
Jon Herring and Dustin Exline were the event winners of the grand nationals class while Tyler Scruggs and Barry Schievink split the pure stocks victories and Matt Shenberger and Claude Roach the intermediate sport mods wins.
Hughes outlasted Travis Johnson to capture the IMCA sport mods triumph on Saturday with Ross McCartney, Kaleb Roach and McDonald rounding out the top five, respectively. Brandon Kenny gave chase to Hughes on Sunday as Daylon Bergeron, McCartney and Roach placed third through fifth.
Misner held off Hesston Shaw, Caleb Crenshaw, Mark Smith and Billy Phelps in the IMCA stock car feature on Saturday before Crenshaw, Phelps, Bill Sessions and Shaw battled for top-five finishes on Sunday.
Traugett bested McDonald on Saturday with Tanner Black, Randy Wilson and Kris Miller in the top five of the IMCA modifieds class. Mike Lunow, Wilson, Black and Mickey Lassiter garnered top fives on Sunday.
Herring defeated Exline, Andy McElfresh, Logan Macy and Jerry Derr during Saturday’s grand nationals A Main before Exline, Kelly Wheeler, McElfresh, Jason Hillard and Derr were the top-five finishers on Sunday.
Scruggs held off Schievink for the pure stocks win on Saturday as Marvin Allen, Steve Blunk and Matthew Smith pocketed top fives. Schievink, Kellen Downing, Scruggs, Bobby Joe Scott and Jonathan Morgan produced top fives on Sunday.
Shenberger raced to the finish line first on Saturday in the intermediate sport mods feature with Claude Roach, Daniel Riley, Gary Donley and Denver Howard rounding out the top five. Roach was first on Sunday as Howard, Riley, Shenberger and Rayce Hacker recorded top fives.
Longdale Speedway will host the Poor Stock Madness this Friday. The event features a $2,000-to-win main event for the pure stocks, a $1,500-to-win feature for the IMCA stock cars and a $1,000-to-win A Main for the grand nationals. The gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m.

LONGDALE SPEEDWAY –
Longdale Speedway is a semi-banked, 3/8-mile clay oval located in Longdale, Okla. Longdale features a gravel pit area off of the backstretch with a concrete viewing area. The pits also include concessions and a full parts store, including tires and fuel. A concrete wall perimeter surrounds the track with an electronic scoreboard, television quality lighting, aluminum grandstand seating 2,000 along with a souvenir shop, sno cone hut, concessions and Herb’s Smoke Shack featuring ribs and turkey legs. All of these features making Longdale Speedway the premier dirt track in Northwest Oklahoma.
