NEW CAR, NEW SEASON, SAME TEAM FOR LUPTON IN ‘11

Dylan Lupton will go into Toyota Speedway at Irwindale’s opening night refreshed after the off-season. Dylan is focused on the 2011 season ahead of him and feels confident in himself and his High Point Racing team. After winning the 2010 Langer’s Juice S2 championship, Lupton is looking forward to a chance to impress in his new late model.

Despite being only 17 years old, Lupton is among one of the favorites for the Auto Club Late Model Rookie of the Year. He claims that the S2 car was a great stepping stone into the division. Going into opening night, Dylan has high hopes. “For opening night I hold high expectations for myself, even though I will be a rookie in a very competitive race series.” Toyota Speedway at Irwindale’s Late Model division is now the premier class at the speedway thanks to its strong car counts and heavy competition.

Lupton is not just looking at opening night when sizing up his year. “Along with opening night, I hold high expectations for myself this season”, Dylan said, “I believe that with experience and determination, I can be a front runner and collect multiple wins in this series.” When not focusing on his studies at Pleasant Grove High School, Dylan is concentrating on the racecar. Just like his teammate, Devon Ostheimer, Lupton is only in the 11th grade and still making a lot of noise out on the race track.

The car Dylan will be driving this year is a brand new Racecar Factory chassis. He will be carrying the same number that he ran with on his S2 car, number 56. However, he has an additional responsibility on his shoulders. Since this is a new car, it has yet to be given a name! That means that Dylan’s performance will help dictate what kind of name the car receives. Something to keep an eye on! Confidence is not a worry to Lupton though; when asked where he sees himself being in 10 years, he replied “I see myself progressing as a driver to the top series of NASCAR.”
