Sanders ninth in Cajun Clash finale at Ark-La-Tex Speedway
For the 10th annual Cajun Clash weekend, Rodney Sanders was one of 59 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) entries amassed at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, La.) on Thursday evening for the three-day event.
With a sixth-to-third run in his heat race placing him on the second row for Thursday’s prelim, Sanders was collected in a tangle in the final laps while trying to avoid a lapped car that relegated him to 20th in the finishing order.
On Friday, Rodney topped his time trial group in qualifying before passing four cars in his heat to finish second. Clawing forward one spot in the 40-lap feature, Sanders recorded a fourth-place finish, which came behind Cayden Carter, Tom Berry Jr., and Jake O’Neil with Joe Duvall coming in fifth.
For Saturday’s finale, Sanders raced his way into the $10,000-to-win Cajun Clash A-Main via runner-up finish in his B-Main after placing third in his heat. Wheeling his way into the top-10, Rodney gained six positions to finish ninth.
