Hill Gains Valuable Experience in Three Days of Racing at Hockett/McMillin Memorial

Inside Line Promotions – WHEATLAND, Mo. (Sept. 26, 2017) – Alex Hill gained a lot of valuable track time and experience as she competed in all three nights of the 7th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour last weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway.

Hill was able to compete in all of the laps of her scheduled races for the three nights. Although she failed to qualify for the A Main each night, she finished better than she started in the B Main each evening.

On Thursday, Hill placed seventh in a heat race before rallying from 11th to eighth in the B Main. The next night she finished sixth in both a heat race and a B Main. On the final night, she started 10th and ended seventh in the qualifier before finishing eighth in the B Main after starting 10th.

“There were a couple of things on the starts of the heats that got me behind right away,” she said. “I just had some bad breaks that kept me from finishing higher and giving me a better chance of making the A.

“It was a decent weekend overall. We didn’t do too bad, but not as good as we hoped. I got a lot of laps in and got more experience and the car is in one piece. I had a good time. I really like that track. It’s a fun one to race.”

Hill returned to college in Los Angeles on Sunday. Her next race will be at the Winter Nationals at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Oct. 20-21.

Sept. 22 – Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo. – Heat race: 6 (4); B Main: 6 (9).

Sept. 23 – Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo. – Qualifier: 7 (10); B Main: 8 (10).

26 races, 1 win, 1 top five, 3 top 10s, 4 top 15s, 8 top 20s
