Ramey Three-Peats, Scores Fourth Victory of Season

SWEET SPRINGS, Mo. – In mid-Missouri, there’s a young gun racer on a hot streak. Carrying two consecutive wins and three total into Saturday’s weekly race at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex, Gunner Ramey did it again. The driver parked his No. 28 Honda-powered Pace Chassis in the track winner’s circle, stretching his victory streak to three-in-a-row.

With 15 restrictor class micros in the pits, there would be two heat races. Ramey started the night off in the first heat, sixth on the grid. The ten-lap race would conclude with the former ATV standout Ramey in the fourth finishing position.

To round out the action on the night, 25 laps would settle the score in the feature. The consistency of Ramey’s season means, based off the full invert on point average, he starts near the tail in every main event. Going from outside row six, he’d have to claw his way forward in a hurry to take the checkered flag. He did just that, with the usual suspects working from the rear of the field toward the front simultaneously. Ramey’s teammate Braydon Renfro was the first of the group to reach the leader, taking the spot on lap seven. Ramey pulled into second behind him shortly thereafter, but trouble would soon strike for Renfro. With ten laps to go, the scoring transponder aboard his machine fell off, and by rule, the caution flag waved and he was sent to the tail. Ramey then assumed the lead for the restart. The only thing left to do was fend off point leader Luke Howard for the remaining laps. Ultimately, it was Ramey crossing the stripe first and earning the trophy.

Ramey would like to thank Impact Signs Awnings & Wraps, Sure Coat Powdercoating, Rob Sneed Shorthorns, McKinney Construction, Ramey Dirtworks, Southwest Storage, 8760 Service Group, Rod End Supply, Factory Kahne Midwest, MYCHRONTOM, and Quick Engineering, as well as his family and the Renfro, Houston, and Cornell families for their continued support.

Ramey is next scheduled to compete on July 18 at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex in Sweet Springs, Mo. in the No. 28 600cc micro sprint entry.
