THOMPSON GOES FROM LAST TO FIRST
Paul Schuh shuffled into the lead during the IMCA Sport Compact feature. Schuh led early but second place, Braydee Hanson, was all over his rear bumper. As the leaders raced hard for the lead, it allowed third place Stan Thompson to close in. With three laps to go, it was a three car battle for the win. Hanson dove low under Schuh which opened the door for Thompson to slip by to take second however, it was still anyone’s race to win. Coming out of turn four and racing towards the checkered flag, Stan Thompson just narrowly edged Paul Schuh for the feature victory. Braydee Hanson finished third while James Gilbert made a last lap pass to finish fourth ahead of Ken Sandberg. Braydee Hanson’s second place wrapped up the Gov Cup championship.
