Cottage Grove Speedway would host some exciting action on Friday June 12th for the second Kage Kart race of the season. Some great kart counts would be on tap and some talented racers would be in attendance.

Coos Bay's Tallon Dubisar would lead the Pee Wee feature wire to wire in the Lil Stinker Portable Toilets/Denny's Pizza/West Coast Precision Washing #14 QRC. It would be the first win of the season for the team. Despite lots of cautions and heavy traffic Isaac Stere, of Cottage Grove, in the Stere Racing #32 QRC machine kept all challengers I check to visit victory lane for the first time of the season.

Justin Lemon of Fall Creek, in his Bear Racing Components/Griffith Family Racing/Inspection Center Northwest #42 QRC, was the early race leader in the 125cc main event but he would lose it laps later to Lebanon's Kyle Roles. Roles would master the restarts of the two cautions taking place to get his first 2015 CGS win in the Knothole Market/James Gang Pizza/Big Sky Landscaping #02 SGC.

Brenden McMaster blazed the trail early in the 250cc ranks. The Roseburg youngster, in the Premier Insurance/Brad McMaster Trucking #8 QRC, would be passed by Conner Hanson of Creswell. Hanson stayed in the position and dominated the rest of the distance to win for the first time at Cottage Grove for his SKS Racing/Hanson Contract Cutting #55H QRC entry.

Finally the Open Kage division would see quite a battle for the lead. Oakland's Scott Fox got the lead early in the Pottsie's Pilot Service/Taco Bell/Oregon Outlaw Speed Shop #3 RFC. He would be under tremendous pressure for the entire distance of the race and even lost the lead briefly to the Rocket Designs/Bunce Equipment/BC Motorsports #77 RFC of Tyler Thompson from Harrisburg. But Fox managed to stay out in front to hold on for the victory.

A couple of Micro Sprints were in attendance but only one was able to compete by the end of the second heat race. So unfortunately they did not race a main event.

The next race for the Cottage Grove Speedway Kage Karts is Friday June 19th. The historical 1/4-mile clay oval is in action on Saturday the 13th for Ladies Night. Classes in action include the 360 Sprints, IMCA Sport Mods, and the Quality RV Repair Hornets. For more information log on to www.cottagegrovespeedway.com.
