DAVE DARLAND TRIUMPHS AT CANYON’S STEVE STROUD MEMORIAL
(Peoria, AZ – February 11, 2017)…Starting eleventh, Dave Darland from Lincoln, Indiana took the lead from Steve Sussex on lap 21 and led the rest of the way to claim the inaugural “Steve Stroud Memorial” at Canyon Speedway Park. “The People’s Champion” finished ahead of “Chargin” Charles Davis Jr., hard charger R.J. Johnson, Sussex, and Shon Deskins. “The Bull” Tye Mihocko was the night’s top-qualifier and heat race wins were taken by Davis, Sussex, and Ronnie Clark. Johnson won the 12-lap semi-main. The Sands Chevrolet USAC SouthWest Sprint Cars return to action on March 9th and 10th at Las Vegas, Nevada.
