Despite some scorching temperatures the whole program scheduled for Willamette Speedway Karts on Friday June 26th would be completed. It would be the third race of the season for the Karts and provided some entertaining racing all evening long.

Piper Hanson from Creswell would lead the entire distance of the Pee Wee main event to collect her second win of the season for the SKS Racing/Hanson Contract Cutting #77H QRC team. Kasey Simmons, also of Creswell, was second in his Bean Hopper Coffee Shop/Jacob Daniels Attorney at Law/Advocare #88K QRC.

Another young lady would emerge victorious in main event action. Makayla Patterson of Lebanon would take car of business in the 5HP Intermediate race. It would be win number two for the King Office Equipment/Water To Go/James Gang Pizza #26 QRC entry. Finishing a respectable second was Forest Grove's Brayden Brookshire in the Collen Winebarger Racing/Dusty's Machine Shop/Jimmy Rivers Performance #ZERO QRC.

Lebanon native Carter Patterson would put on a clinic in the 5HP Open main. Patterson, in his King Office Equipment/Water To Go/James Gang Pizza #47 QRC, would be victorious for the second time in 2015. The Riggs Racing #32 Hubbard of Seth Riggs from Eugene was second.

Kyle Roles was on a roll yet again in 125cc competition. The Lebanon youngster lead every single circuit of the feature to win his third Willamette triumph in as many starts in his Knothole Market/James Gang Pizza/Big Sky Landscaping #02 SGC. Clackamas' Dustin Asher was second in the Big Sky Landscaping/Checkered Flag Paving & Sealcoating/Sharkshifter.com #6A QRC.

Mclain Beaudoin of Lebanon was fast in the early goings of the 250cc race. The pilot of the Knothole Market/James Gang Pizza/Lebanon Auto Body #17 QRC would unfortunately end up in the turn four wall after getting passed for the led. The driver to take over the top spot, and to lead the remainder of the distance, was Portland's Duke Johnson. It would be the first win of the season for Johnson and the Oregon Outlaws Speed Shop/R.S. Race Products/Old Black Daddy Foster Care/Luck O' Johnny #151 RFC.

Trinity Pendley of Albany was second in her Linn-Benton Insurance/James Gang Pizza/PL Performance Lighting #47 QRC followed by the Jones Family Racing #48C QRC of Custin Jones hailing from Lebanon. The rest of the top five consisted of Creswell's Conner Hanson, in fourth and in his SKS Racing/Hanson Contract Cutting #55H QRC, while fifth place would go to the Linn-Benton Insurance/James Gang Pizza/PL Performance Lighting #29 QRC of McKenzine Lockhart out of Albany.

Finally in the Open Kage it was all Eric Scofield. The Albany ace would lead the entire distance to put his Scofield's Karts & Parts/Human Bean Coffee/Lassen RV #37 QRC Area51 in the winner's circle for the second occasion this year. Silverton's Matt Enos ended up second in the Enos Upholstry/O'Hagan Karts & Supplies/Extreme Outlaw Karts #93 RFC while behind him was the Cascade Outdoor Power Equipment/Powers Transports/Unlimited Business Service #15 QRC of Cory Yeack from Lebanon. Conner Hanson, doing double duty, wound up fourth and fifth place would go to Justin Jones of Lebanon in the Jones Family Racing #2 QRC.

Friday July 10th will be the next Kart event for Willamette Speedway and it will be a good one. Being labeled the “Tune Up For The Crocker's Cars Summer Showdown” it will be the last opportunity for teams to prepare for the big race in a few weeks on July 31st and August 1st. The race on the 10th will pay $500.00 to the winner of the Opens, $250.00 to the 250cc victor, and the 125cc main event winner gets $125.00.
