Park Jefferson Championship Night for IMCA plus $1500 to win Champ 360 Sprints

Championship Night has arrived at the Park Jefferson Speedway, as this Saturday the track will crown it’s 6 IMCA Champions. In addition, drivers in the IMCA RACESaver class will be competing for their Road to the Iron Cup event with a draw/redraw format paying $500 to win along with $25 drawings for 2-5 and 6-24. Finally, the Keizer Wheels Championship 360 Sprint Cars will return for their final stand-alone event competing for $1500 to win.

The point battles have been very close all season in many divisions. None closer than the J&J Fitting Stock Cars, which has seen a myriad of competitors hold the top spot with Greg Taylor now holding top honors by just 2 points. The SignMasters IMCA Mods see Bob Moore by 15 points over Ricky Stephan, Todd Boulware 10 points over Rusty Montagne, and David Bates 8 points over Luk Jackson. Craig Clift clings to a 5 point advantage over David Miller and 6 over Aaron Shearn, and Colin Smith has assured himself of the first ever IMCA RACESaver Sprint title at Park Jefferson with a 73 point lead.

The Keizer Wheel 360 sprint cars will still have 3 point nights remaining, but this week’s races should go a long way toward determining the ultimate track champion who received the $1,000 check courtesy of Keizer Wheels and Hoosier Tire point money. Flyin Ryan Bickett has been coming on strong all season, and passed long term point leader Cody Hansen on July 15th to take over the top spot. The Ramona native has 1 feature win to his credit, while the Nunda based Hansen has yet to find victory lane. Elliot Amdahl has continued consistent performances and sits in 3rd place ahead of Omaha’s Cody Ledger, who has been the man to beat the last month. Drivers will have this event, and then earn points in both of the Nebraska 360 vs MSTS shootouts on August 26th and September 16th in what is the MSTS point finale. The point championship was originally slated for August 26, but with the reworked schedule, the decision was made to award points for the touring shows on Aug 26 and Sept 16. The purse for the August 26 show paying $1,500 to win and $200 to start will now be this Saturday.

Gates open this Saturday at 5 pm with hot laps set for 6:30. Adult tickets are $12, seniors 70 are $5, children 6-16 are $2 and under 6 are free. The Budweiser Clubhouse will be open for an additional $12 upgrade to any ticket. For more information, go to www.parkjeff.com or call 712-202-5540.
