Tom Berry Jr. competes in Labor Day swing

Tom Berry Jr. trekked north on Thursday evening to compete in the 26th annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.).

After Mother Nature washed out the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) opener on Thursday, Berry recorded a fifth-place finish in his heat race on Friday, relegating him into a consolation race. Racing for a transfer position into the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Tom fell one spot short with a sixth-place outing.

Electing to head back to Iowa to prepare for the IMCA Super Nationals, Tom entered the Rick and Mia Dralle-owned No. 11 Late Model at Boone (IA) Speedway on Monday for the 42nd running of the annual event. His night was short-lived after blowing a motor in his hot lap session.
