TK tops night of new winners at Huset’s
Tim Kaeding and Mark Dobmeier exchanged numerous slide jobs in the Dollar Loan Center Outlaw Sprint A-Main Sunday night. In the end, TK would get his first win of 2015 at Huset’s Speedway.
Kaeding took the lead of the 25-lapper on the sixth circuit when Matt Juhl would lose a throttle linkage while in front of the field.
Kaeding would officially lead every lap from that point to the checkered, but it was not that easy for the San Jose, California, native. Kaeding would get passed several times by Dobmeier, only to turn the #3 and regain the lead before the flag stand.
“We finally for the monkey off our back,” said Kaeding in victory lane. “All you fans, this was some fun racing right there.”
Dobmier followed Kaeding to the finish followed by Ryan Bickett, Jody Rosenboom and Joe Riedel. The win is Kaeding’s fourth career win at Huset’s.
Robby Wolfgang took the lead of the Coffee Cup Fuel Stop IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature on lap number nine of the event and went on to his first win of the year. The race had three different leaders including Trevor Mell who led the opening lap and Shane Fick who led laps two through eight.
The Bolte’s Rolloff Service Street Stock feature also had a first-time winner for 2015. Jesse Akkerman of Luverne, Minnesota, led all 15 laps to flex his muscles in victory lane. Akkerman edged Cory Yeigh to the finish line.
Miah Christensen climbed into a borrowed race car to “shake it down” on Sunday night. He accomplished that and then some by leading the duration of the USRA B-Modified feature. The win is the first this year for the 2013 track champion.
Dustin Gulbrandson took over the lead of the hobby stock feature on lap number four and drove to his first win of 2015. The defending champion started ninth on the field.
The next event at Huset’s Speedway is this Sunday.
