JAM figures out qualifying Saturday Night #7 and goes 4th Quick at Knoxville Raceway
Qualifying spot is huge at Knoxville Raceway and it's where you get the most points the entire evening. The heat race is like bonus points. As a team we have been trying different things each week in qualifying trying to get it figured out. And with track position, we have have got lucky a couple times this season and landed a couple good timing laps.
However, Saturday night the team tried something different once again and even going out in the 20th timing slot, Jack laid down two good laps, lap one was 8th quick and lap two was 3rd Quick. At the end of qualifying Jack held onto a 4th Quick Qualifying lap.
That would start Jack 5th in the first heat race. With a solid run in the heat race Jack would finish 4th place and pick up those bonus points.
With qualifying and heat race points put Jack starting front row outside in the A Main Event. At the start of the race Jack and Joe Beaver battled for 2nd a few laps letting Jamie Ball get out there a little. Jack took over the 2nd spot and wheeled in Ball. Jack was making the pass for the lead when Ball came up the track and into Jack, unfortunately ending our evening. Would have loved to race that one out.
We are getting so close!! And very excited about what we figured out in qualifying!!
