Overton visits East Bay for final Wieland Winternationals
Coming off a $12,000 victory with the Southern All Stars in Georgia, Brandon Overton returned to action on Wednesday for the final Wieland Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Fla.).
Against a stacked field of 75 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Brandon raced into Wednesday’s prelim with a second-place finish in his heat. Starting in sixth, Overton got caught behind a spinning car on lap 17 while running seventh that brought a disappointing end to his night.
Back in action on Friday thanks to the hard work of his crew, Overton timed in sixth-fastest in his 37-car group before placing third in his heat. Sidelined again in the feature, Brandon was the first retiree of the race on the third circuit.
On Friday, Brandon came in sixth in his heat before pulling off on the third lap of his B-Main, ending his night.
He was a scratch from Saturday’s program.
