Trent Ivey lands on XR Workin' Man Series podium at Cherokee
Trent Ivey made a special Thursday night appearance at his home track of Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) to compete with the XR Workin' Man Series for the Throwback 50.
With 33 Late Models on hand, Ivey finished runner-up in his heat race before earning the outside pole for the feature via the Dirt Dominator. For the $10,000-to-win main event, Ivey kept his nose clean and eased his way to a runner-up finish in the Throwback 50. He trailed race-winner Ross Bailes while Jeff Smith, Carson Ferguson, and Michael Brown rounded out the Top-5.
Travelling to All-Tech Raceway (Lake City, Fla.) on Saturday afternoon to compete with the Crate Racin' USA for the Harvey Jones Memorial, Ivey was one of 45 entries on the premises. Following the sixth-quickest lap in his group, Trent made up a couple spots in his heat race to earn the 13th-place starting position. For the $10,000-to-win main event, Ivey gained four positions to land inside the Top-10 in ninth.
