Ivey marches to Top-5 finish at Volunteer Speedway

Behind the wheel of his Ivey Construction No. 88 Late Model, Trent Ivey visited Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Saturday afternoon for the Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Series-sanctioned Grinch 40. Drawing 22 cars for the second round of the six-race miniseries, Trent recorded a fifth place finish in his heat race, which positioned him 13th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main. Wheeling his way into the Top-5, Ivey passed nine cars in the 40-lapper to finish fourth behind Chris Madden, Donald McIntosh, and Kyle Strickler with Benji Hicks coming in fifth.
