With the 124-car field split into two groups for a pair of $12,000-to-win preliminary features, Ford recorded an 11th-place finish in his heat after a getting buried in his qualifying session. Transferring into the B-Main, Jensen gained three spots to finish ninth, ending his night early.
Later that night for heat races leading up to the Eldora Million, Jensen logged a 17th-place outing in his 20-lap heat, ending his bid for the $1,002,022-to-win main event.
On Friday as the 28th annual Dirt Late Model Dream got underway with a pair of prelims, Ford’s ninth-place finish in his heat relegated him into the B-Main for another shot at the $12,000-to-win A-Main. Needing to place second or better, Jensen recorded an eighth-place finish.
Starting on the seventh row of his heat race on Saturday evening, Ford marched forward seven spots to finish seventh, sending him into the B-Main. Locking the top-two into the $128,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream, Jensen slipped back to a 16th-place outing
